Eating in Columbia

Here are some of Jake and Erika's favorite places to eat in Columbia. Columbia has all of the standard restaurants you might imagine (Applebee's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc.) as well. This is family weekend at Mizzou, so there could be a wait at some of these establishments on the evening of the wedding.

Jake and Erika's Favorites:
Downtown:
(the most likely places to be busy, but close to the wedding site and delicious)

1. Flatbranch Pub and Brewing (115 S 5th St [8-20$]): This restaurant has the best mashed potatoes in the United states, great food, and wonderful brews. They also have a lovely patio to enjoy the dinner on.

2. Addison's - An American Grill (709 Cherry St [8-20$]): Good burgers, good salads, and good pasta.

3. Shakespeare's Pizza (225 S 9th St) : A high school ritual for Erika's lunch and Jake's favorite non-Imos pizza in Missouri.

4. Bangkok Gardens (26 N 9th St [~11$]): Good Thai food. Spicy means spicy, however.

5. Main Squeeze (28 S. 9th Street [~10$]): If you are a vegetarian, vegan, or you just want to eat at an establishment that asks "Is this the very best we can do for the health of our planet, our customers, our employees, our community?" then this meatless paradise is for you.

6. El Rancho (1014 E Broadway [5-10$]): One of Jake's Columbia favorites. You can't beat a fattening, delicious chimichanga before any major event. You might look out of place in your wedding attire, but you won't be the only ones, as John and Brenda (the father and mother of the bride) frequent the El. (A word of warning - Erika does not recommend this place, and I had to fight to get it on the list.)

Not Downtown
(Probably less of a wait on these places, and still - delicious food)

1. Murry's (3107 Green Meadows Way [7-15$]): Erika's favorite Columbia restaurant. She recommends the tuna pesto and feta sandwich and dinner salad with balsamic honey dressing. This place often has a wait, so it might be better for a lunch on Saturday.

2. Osaka Sushi (3107 Green Meadows Way [10-20$]): Our favorite sushi place in Columbia.

3. Jazz (1605 Chapel Hill Rd [10-25$]): Who says crawdads don't go well with weddings?

4. There are many more options downtown and many not downtown. This list was just a starter. If you have any questions about where/what is delicious, email Jake and Erika!
